During a BBQ a friend of a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - at 6:00pm, Ingrid passed away. She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ - had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. It only takes a minute to read this-     A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally.  He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed and getting help to the patient within

Last night I went to the Tribute to John Coltrane Jam in Harlem - All the cool cats were there and the music was incredible! (A tribute to JOHN COLTRANE http://anacissastipsntricks.blogspot.com/2011/09/jazz-jam-wednesdays-september-21-2011.html?spref=tw ) The venue where this jam session took place is called Paris Blues and it is the authentic Harlem jazz venue. No tourists there! I am going back for sure. Lester (Mr Les Goodson) is organizing a Miles Davis Tribute, not to be missed! Keep tuned. Calvin I spotted those peepers from the opposite side of the subway car. I made a beeline straight to where those turquoise magnetic marbles were and didn't even think before I asked Mr Killer Eyes if in fact those were real. "Excuse me sir, are those eyes for real?" And Mr Killer Eyes opened a killer smile, and said, "but of course they are darling!" Detecting my accent in record speed, he followed by asking me where I was from and when I told him that I was from Brazil, we were on for a long chat. Mr Killer Eyes, aka Calvin's dream is to go to Brazil someday. We chatted all the way from Canal to 23rd Street and I could not get enough of those unbelievable gems. I asked him if women have fallen for his eyes all his life. He grinned big and said: "Today I am happy that my eyes attracted the eyes of a Brazilian lady...That just made my day!" People are ALWAYS open to compliments, and with a couple simple words you can make someone's day

"HOW TO GET THE GIRL" This is valid for both GIRL & BOY Today's Tip: GET THE HINT, WILL YA? Remember that movie " He's Just Not That Into You" (2009)? That was a cute movie, but it also had a valuable lesson: If he/she says NO , one, two...three times.. SHE/HE is NOT THAT INTO YOU! If she/he does NOT call you back, text you back, email you back...it's NOT because she/he is too busy...it is because she/he IS NOT THAT INTO YOU. If they were into you, believe me, they would stop whatever they are doing and would get in touch with you. That's it. Yeah, you can say,- "she/he is insecure, afraid to fall in love, shy, busy with work...blah blah". Yeah, that might be true BUT if they are REALLY interested they will get over their BS and will contact you. So darlings....don't beg. PLEASE. There's nothing worse than having to deal with someone that just doesn't get it! Actually, the other role is also not pleasant... reject
