Fred's

When visiting NY, a lot of tourists end up at the 5th Avenue Apple store, right next to Central Park and across the street from the Plaza Hotel. While this is a lovely area to visit, it lacks good restaurants near by. You would have to walk several blocks until you find a good place for lunch, happy hour or dinner. I would like to suggest a place that I just happen to love, and it's right there, in the area. You would not just run into it. It is not out on the streets. This restaurant is a hidden jewel! I'm talking about a restaurant called Fred's. Fred's is located on the top floor of Barney's NY (if you haven't been to Barneys - it's a great dept store. My favorite actually)
I love seating at the bar at Fred's, ordering a delicious Lobster Bisque, or an Insalada Caprese. And if it's a hot summer day, and I have been walking and or shopping a lot, and need a serious brake, I order a nice and cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc to go with it. The ambient is lively, very well designed, full of windows, it has a good to look at crowd and the food is just delicious!

When you go there, let me know what you think!

Cheers
