 Dear Shameless makers:  I love your TV show! I don't follow many TV programs but I don't miss one episode of Shameless. I would like to however make a comment about the end of episode 3 where you have a brief scene of the character Steve in Brazil. I am a Brazilian woman and I am very proud of my beautiful country and it's beautiful and warm Brazilian people. I very much resent the fact that you showed Steve getting a blowjob by a Brazilian woman with Rio's backdrop. That is a stupid and demeaning way of depicting a country and it's values. It's very disappointing that your writers would chose to stereotype my country in such poor way. Brazil, the land of easy and slutty women. Really guys? By the way, your backdrop could not look more fake. That whole scene is just a disaster. Remember, you live in a GLOBAL community now. You should be more careful on how you portrait people's cultures and countries. They could be watching you!

One of my all time favorite houses in the world: The Paraty House by Marcio Kogan Architects Paraty House’s two reinforced concrete boxes, sit atop each other, connected on the mountainside of one of the islands of the colonial city of Paraty and Angra dos Reis (between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), like two modern prisms between the large colossal stones of the Brazilian coast. The building projects outward from the mountain, almost onto the beach, in an 8m cantilever. Here's a note written about it for E.W. by Owen Gleiberman: The first thing to say about the two-part, 3-hour-and-15-minute American Masters special Woody Allen: A Documentary , which airs tonight and tomorrow on PBS, is that it mixes things you already know with things you didn’t know in an avidly enjoyable, Woody-nostalgia way. Here’s something, for instance, that I didn’t know: Allen still does all his writing on the same tiny typewriter he has owned since he was 16 — a German-made Olympia portable that he purchased for $40 in 1952. He’s written all his movies on it, all his plays, and all his New Yorker pieces. The typewriter is missing its top, so you can see those primitive reel-to-reel ink cartridges, but...
